I was grilling chicken and then this happened…

Not gonna lie - I can grill some bomb ass barbecue chicken. I use a very simple but common recipe that tons of people use on Guam and it’s straight 🔥🔥🔥

It got to the point where my classmates in physical therapy school would give me money to make it for them. I even made them a hilarious YouTube video to show them how to prep the marinade - I’ll link it later in the email.

So I’m making another version of this chicken and it’s more slippery to handle than what I’m used to.

The flames are flamin’ on the grill and I start placing an army of chicken thighs in perfect formation. The aroma kicks in and sizzle is so satisfying.

And then *SLOOP*

One of the thicc-est thighs of them all somehow slithered between the 1 centimeter opening 🤏🏾 of the grate landing right between the gas fueled flames.

For a second I thought - "no f*cking way I’m letting this happen - I’m savin’ this b*tch"

But as juices from the other chickens started to heighten the flames, I realized I’d have to move all the other chickens, lift the grate with my tongs somehow, and jeopardize all the other thighs in the process.

The choice was clear.

I continued to carefully place the rest of the thighs while watching this delicious piece of chicken slowly turn to ashes.

I cut my losses and moved on.

P.S. I’ve decided that I need to leave behind unfinished books. I keep torturing myself by thinking I’m gonna go back to reading them someday and I almost never do. And I’m perfectly fine without em.
