Words I made up:

Copy someone to get started.

Add your own pizazz.

Before you know it, you’re the one people are copying.

Quick Stuff That Sticks: Copy with intention

Most people don’t know how to properly copy inspiration.

They rip things, people, or CheeksGPT word for word.

They don’t give credit to the owner.

They miss the whole point of copying in the first place–to just get started.

Before we start something new, we like to melt our brains with fear first.

  • What if my coworkers see this and think I’m cringe?
  • What if this sucks and I become an internet meme?
  • What if people think I’m just copying Alex Hormzi’s Mozi Money Minute email template?

If you haven’t already put it together, I’m literally copying an email template that a popular business YouTuber uses that I enjoy.

He literally told us to copy his template and try it for ourselves.

I didn't wanna reinvent the wheel for shorter, templatized, value gorged emails–so I didn't.

Instead, I made things easier and copied with intention.

The 6-step Copy & Create Cycle™ (also made up):

  1. Collect inspiration
  2. Set constraints (not expectations) so you don’t have a blank canvas coma
  3. Copy chosen inspiration to:
    • Get started
    • Close knowledge gaps
    • Decrease fear of having unoriginal thoughts
  4. Share in a safe space
  5. Credit inspiration or thank source
  6. Repeat and remix until it's yours

Gonna try to stick to these 6 steps myself so you get more content like this.

Wanna join us for this Power Moves Sunday, July 27th, to try this with me and other Clurb Members?

Might practice step 4 and demo the tool I’m working on for you if you’re there 😉

TTYL!

Simie
