This makes hard tasks way more fun

Sent to the clurb · Nov 2025

Hi friend,

You know when a task or a project feels like it's going to be a monumental lift?

And then you're draggin' ass for hours, maybe even days or weeks, to even approach it?

I bet you also know the feeling of falling into a YouTube rabbit hole or a book that has you overstimulated with excitement to get shit done at 3am.

This morning, I went into a mini rabbit hole just before setting out to film and thought, "Holy shit, I need to share this first."

I've been slowly figuring out how to approach making content again so that it feels fun, fresh, with less of that monumental lifting sensation before even starting.

And thankfully, through the power of 🪞reflection🪞 using 750 words, I was recommended content that would feed my brain and prime it into being excited about doing hard tasks.

After watching just one video from Every Frame A Painting, all of a sardines I'm pumped to film AND edit to try new things.

Then I realized this always happens when I immerse myself in media about the thing I'm doing.

Whether it's building Task Alignment, improving my clients' coaching experience, or spontaneously birthing mini webapps for the revamp of my Power Moves Workshop – I'm waaaaay more motivated when I stay inspired around the work.

Even if you've gotta do something boring on an Excel spreadsheet, I'd bet there's content to help you optimize your work or even make it more aesthetic so you want to get in there and click clack.

So to make hard tasks feel way more fun:

Let your input energize your output.

Continuously feed yourself with inspiring stories, visuals, people, or tools that mirror the thing you're trying to do.

I'm off to filming!

P.S. Need more than just inspo? I've got the capacity for one more coaching client before the end of the year. Apply here.
