Hi Friend, Listen to this 5 min email here Have you ever come across a book, super excited to read it, then purchase it, only to never open it? I’m guilty of doing this for 1 out of every 8 books I purchase… And I regret doing that with a book I bought over a year ago and never even took out of the plastic wrap. A Clurb Member told me about this book on a zoom call when I had asked her how she was able to start making progress after being in a cycle of self-sabotage. Her vibes were vibin’ so I ordered it while we were still on the call. Then, “life got busy, you know how it is”. I had forgotten about this book so hard that it didn’t even make it onto my “Unread Books” list. Side note: Because of this type of behavior I’m often conflicted about throwing out book recs in fear of adding to your unread/to read book list or shuttling you to distraction land. Anyways, fast forward to now and while I’m doing a guided meditation, this book appears in my mind out of nowhere. Weird. Immediately after, while looking for content to make doing the dishes less painful, I saw that one of my favorite business YouTubers uploaded a video on the same book, 7 hours ago. WTF. *immediately adds book to Task Alignment* To decrease the risk of having you buy it to abandon it, I’m gonna spell out who this book is for, and who it’s not for. ✅ If you desperately want change in your life and you’re willing to rip the bedsheets off your fugly truths…this book is for you. ✅ If you work long ass hours, hate your commute, and feel trapped in a cycle…this book is for you. ✅ If you conveniently always have something else pop up right before you finally take action on a commitment you made to yourself…this book is for you. ✅ If you’ve read self-help books and they didn’t cHaNGe yOuR LiFe… this book is for you. ✅ If you want a book that cleanly slices the jugular on what’s actually holding you back… this book is for you, friend. ❌ This book isn’t for people who are in self denial and would rather over-function to try to solve their problems. If this last one is you 👆🏾you’ll read the reviews on Amazon and click out, or… You’ll order it, have it sit in the plastic wrap for 452 days, see it in a vision, then watch a video about it sent from the YouTube gods, before you add it to your task board in an app that you built to help you do more of the right things. And speaking of doing the right things, this is what I read this morning that got me to share this book with you. This weekend on Aug 31st, I’m hosting a Power Moves Sunday session – a space I created to help you take action on the things you're not used to taking action on. It’s a bonus event where we do the “right” things (together) after figuring out what they are in the Power Moves Workshop. I was planning to continue working on Task Alignment, but I think I’m going to use the time to read and process the rest of The Mountain is You if I don’t already finish the book by then. Here’s the link to the book: https://amzn.to/466l1RT And here’s the link to the workshop so that you can join us this Sunday: /moved/ Treat yourself. ✌🏾TTYL! ✌🏾 Simile P.S. I got 6 pages into this book before I was shooketh to my core. Just be warned that shit gets a lil’ heavy. P.P.S. Wouldn’t it be nice if you purchased the book and read it with me on Sunday, Aug 31st during the Power Moves Sunday session? |
