I need more of this from you

Listen to my enthusiasm in this email here!

Hi Friend,

What I’m about to reveal in this email is either gonna trigger you or leave you completely unfazed…

I always mix up characters in Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings 😬

I watched the first few Harry Potter movies like once, maybe twice.

Never read the books. Never understood the fan culture and felt like an odd millennial for not knowing who Draco Malfoy is.

I’ve just never been into “magical” entertainment.

Meanwhile, Abbey has seen Charmed (way too many times), Vampire Diaries, Game of Thrones, Lucifer–basically anything that involves spell casting, blood, and a wrinkly mystical villain…

And me? I'd rather watch YouTube videos about mechanical keyboards.

But lately, the Universe (yes, that capped U is intentional) has been force feeding me breadcrumbs that leave me with no choice but to believe in non-fictional magic.

A few examples (out of hundreds) of "magical" things I've experienced:

  • A mushroom growing in my closet
  • Finding soulmates (plural)
  • Symbolic corndog appearances
  • A tarot card reading that almost brought me to tears
  • My therapist asking to befriend me (in a completely ethical way)

I’ll spare you from the elaboration of all of these events, but here's what they all had in common:

All of these resulted from the creation of shared art.

All of my content–videos, emails, ideas, stickers, etc. come from corndog inspiration and random media in random forms.

And now that artificial intelligence has wiggled its way into everything–we need to remember to consume and create art that obviously sprouted from a human soul.

This is the most overlooked way to feed our brains and give meaning to what we do.

I’m not anti-AI.

I use CheeksGPT like it’s my unpaid PT school student and boundary free bestie that I can ignore without guilt.

It’s made my life easier in countless ways, but if I don’t create something that’s fed with the culmination of my real life experiences, things start to feel empty and pointless really freakin’ fast.

Last week, I got an email from an anonymous subscriber that included an attachment to a Harry-Potter fan-fiction piece.

I drafted a politely lame reply like, “oh nice! I’ll share it with my friends that are into Harry Potter. Thanks!”

But something told me to read it anyway.

And holy shit–it blew me.

Even with my fetus-level Potter knowledge, I blasted through its colorful contents in one sitting and immediately emailed back for permission to share it with you because it was such a fun read.

This is the type of art that inspires me to write emails like these in hopes that this energy gets transferred to you.

I need you to create things and share them.

You need you to create things and share them (read it again).

You have no idea what sort of value you can bring to others until you’re willing to allow it to come out of you.

If you've been sitting on something to share I’m inviting you to start here by replying to this email with it.

I wanna know what else is out there that hasn’t been solely birthed by CheeksGPT.

✌🏾TTYL! ✌🏾

Simie
