How I setup my ideal calendar

Sent to the clurb · Jan 2026

Hello hello friend,

I just got done setting up my calendar to prep for some huge changes that are coming up this year for me.

This was a super grounding process and I felt even more chill and excited once it was done – and not in a "procrasti-planning" type of way.

Before I setup my ideal calendar I listed "ALL OF THE THINGS" that I'm happy to spend my time and energy on and divided them up into four separate quadrants:

  1. 🧠 Creative: for things that require max focus and fresh brain cells
  2. ⚙️ Maintenance: for things that I want to have running but not expanding
  3. 🍱 Life Infrastructure: the non-negotiables like eating and adulting
  4. 🌱 Incubation: exploratory building that's free from external pressure and "shoulding"

These categories are unique to me and what groupings I thought made the most sense.

For example, if you decide to do this for yourself, "Maintenance" might mean keeping your guinea pigs alive and happy, journaling, or doing a spiritual skin care practice.

After doing this in my journal I just kept referring to this while setting up my ideal calendar.

The idea is that if I were to pick something from "ALL OF THE THINGS" I'd know exactly what block it belongs in when I look at my calendar.

Anyways, here's a 15 min vid of what my ideal calendar looks like initially.

Feel free to reply and share things that you find helpful for yourself or if you have questions.

✌🏾TTYL✌🏾

P.S. This took me about 2 hours to do between brainstorming, writing in my journal, and setting up my calendar.

P.P.S. I didn't start a new journal for the new year and I finally figured out why this works for me. More on that in another email.
