Hey there, Listen to this 3 min email here, you'll enjoy it. 43 random folders and files on your desktop? 12,107 unread emails with half of them starred or marked “important?” Searching for sensitive documents in your downloads? Or storing them via email attachments that you search as needed? 🫠 Imagine that, but you decide to be a YouTuber and start a business LOL. Admin. Hell. I was constantly in the Pain Cave trying to build systems that would free me from having to click my mouse 400 times just to send out a single coaching contract. I understand the value of creating systems to save time, energy, and massive tech mistakes but I’m just not good at all the digital clickity clack. The only digital thing that’s organized in my life are the folders I edit my videos with–and that’s from 5 years of refining. But I found a digital organization/systemizing Lordess. The problem was that she was tied up doing a massive video editing project for a client that was gonna take her a whole month or more to finish. Guess who’s good at editing videos? 💁🏾♀️ I half jokingly proposed swapping our Pain Cave tasks to preserve our sanity while doing something we’re actually good at. I edit her client’s videos. The trade-offs: Pros ✨ My digital life gets an extreme makeover (by a pro) ✨ We split the project pay ✨ I get to peek behind the scenes of a well-being curriculum for inspo ✨ Years of my life saved from pointless clickity clacking ✨ You get more content from me in the long run Cons 🫠 Pause building the tool I’m making for you 🫠 Clock 60–70 hours of editing in one week to meet the deadline 🫠 Live off dino nuggets (this might actually belong in the pros list) As of yesterday the video project was delivered. I wish I could’ve showed you my HGTV like reaction to the reveal but instead I’ll share what I’ve learned: Leverage your skillsets and strengths to make easy progress. What’s something you’re the bomb at that you’ve been overlooking as leverage or value? Imbalance can bring the balance you’re looking for. Is there a temporary, chaotic imbalance you could jump into for a long-term payoff later? Always be look for how you can help others, who can help you. What if your solution isn’t how, but who? Lotta cool stuff comin’ down the unclogging pipeline, ✌🏾Simie ✌🏾 P.P.S. I’m about to open up a 1:1 coaching slot. So if you’re interested in working with me, reply “who not how” to this email! |
